Course Description

In this self-paced course, you’ll learn to facilitate effective Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) sessions that support student communication in a virtual therapy setting. Through lectures, reflection activities, and examples, you’ll gain foundational skills for planning meaningful sessions and making informed decisions to support communication growth across all AAC levels.


Instructors: Lelis Nolasco-Garcia

Lelis Nolasco-Garcia, M.S., CCC-SLP

Lelis has practiced as a bilingual/AAC clinical Speech-Language Pathologist in the medical (15 years), public school (25 years), and telepractice (9 years) settings treating clients across the lifespan. Her emphasis has been working with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), non-verbal or limited verbal communicators due to multiple disabilities, rehabilitation of patients in geriatric and pediatric settings after CVA, TBI, & dysphagia. Additionally, Lelis has also worked with Culturally & Linguistically Diverse populations. Lelis has been a contracted SLP with Presence since 2016 where she was responsible for assessing and treating bilingual students and students with AAC needs. She has also created content for the Presence Library and hosted several clinical workshops related to bilingualism and AAC.

Lelis hosts bilingual and AAC clinical trainings for Presence and other companies. Continuing education courses are offered at no cost to contracted and employed Presence providers. In the event a course is canceled, the participants will have the option to attend a rescheduled event offered within 60 days of the canceled course.

Please note: Registered participants who register for live courses but do not attend or cancel with less than 24 hours notice may have future course registration restricted after three documented incidents.
